Like all great ideas, It’s Not Me, It’s You was born out of poor decisions, questionable dating choices, and one too many “you will not believe what just happened” texts to the group chat.
It started as a few suggestions from friends: "You need to do something with comedy" and "Can you help me with my profile?" We thought, why not combine the two? Somewhere between the laughter, the mild emotional damage, and the third round of drinks, we realized something:
We weren’t alone. Everyone had that story. The bio that made you scream. The date that ended in chaos. The text you still read when you need to cringe yourself to sleep.
So we decided to take our group chat energy public. We built It’s Not Me, It’s You as part comedy show, part therapy session, part public execution of bad dating decisions. It’s a place where your romantic disasters become points, prizes, and applause—and where we can all agree that at least this time, it’s funny.
We didn’t set out to fix anyone’s love life.
We set out to make the mess worth laughing about.
We do it all for shiggles.
Sarah is the founder and host of It’s Not Me, It’s You, a dating coach, and a highly decorated veteran of the online dating battlefield. She’s swiped, matched, ghosted, and been ghosted enough times to qualify for hazard pay—and she’s turned every lesson (and bad date) into a strategy that actually works.
A successful online dater herself, Sarah blends the science of attraction with the art of the roast, delivering the kind of dating advice you don’t want but desperately need. She’s helped countless people upgrade their profiles, avoid walking red flags, and even find partners they don’t have to block later.
When she’s not coaching or hosting live shows, Sarah is busy collecting the world’s most unhinged dating stories, perfecting her “Are you serious?” face, and proving that in the dating world, a good laugh is just as important as a good match.
Her philosophy? Love is unpredictable, dating is messy, and if you can’t find “the one,” find the story that makes everyone at brunch spit out their mimosas.
Ric is the co-host and resident voice of reason for It’s Not Me, It’s You—though “voice of reason” is used loosely, depending on the night. With a successful 20+ year relationship/marriage to his husband, Ric brings a rare perspective to the dating circus: he’s been out of the game long enough to be objective, but close enough to remember the chaos.
As Sarah’s co-conspirator, Ric balances sharp wit with grounded insight, offering the perfect counterpoint to her roast-level humor. He’s proof that long-term love is possible, even if you have to navigate a few plot twists (and more than a few questionable dates) to get there.
When he’s not on stage, Ric is the calm in the storm—helping wrangle submissions, keep the games on track, and occasionally reminding Sarah that not every dating story needs pyrotechnics.
His philosophy? Great love is built on trust, respect, and the ability to laugh at each other’s questionable choices—preferably over a strong drink.
